Key takeaways
- Always compare full weeks of the same length, in the same currency.
- Keep what fans paid, the platform fee, any agency share and what’s left for you on separate lines.
- Look beyond money: content, open fan requests and how you’re feeling.
- End every check-in with three lines: what we saw, why we think it happened, what we’ll change.
Set the ground rules once
A check-in only works if this week and last week are measured the same way. Decide once and stick to it:
- Monday to Sunday (or any seven days – just always the same ones)
- one currency and one time zone
- what fans paid, then minus the platform fee, then minus any agency share
- refunds counted the same way every week
One more trap: the balance waiting for payout is not the same as what you earned this week. They answer different questions, so keep them apart. If you’re not sure what a figure in your dashboard means, our guide to OnlyFans stats explains it in plain words.
An example week with easy maths
| Week 1 | Week 2 | |
|---|---|---|
| What fans paid | $1,250 | $1,400 |
| OnlyFans keeps 20% | $250 | $280 |
| After the platform fee | $1,000 | $1,120 |
| Example agency share (35%) | $350 | $392 |
| Left for you before tax and costs | $650 | $728 |
These are made-up numbers, not a real creator. What’s left for you grew by $78, or 12% – lovely! But the table doesn’t tell you why. If you launched a new photo series and a discount in the same week, you can’t say which one did the trick, so write “not sure yet” instead of guessing. Want to check your own share? Look beyond the money
- Content: what was planned, what actually went out and why anything was skipped.
- Fans: open custom requests, complaints and anything waiting for your okay.
- Social media: visits and new subscribers – but only where you can really see where they came from. If you can’t, write “unknown”.
- You: how many hours you spent, how you felt and whether a boundary needs adjusting.
That last point matters just as much as the numbers. A week that earned more but left you exhausted isn’t a win you want to repeat.
End with one clear decision
Finish every check-in with three short lines, for example:
- What we saw: profile visits stayed the same, but fewer people subscribed.
- What we think: the new bio might be less clear than the old one.
- What we’ll change: bring back the old first line for two weeks and keep the price the same.
That’s a guess you can check, not a fact. Next week, compare the same numbers and note whether you keep the change or undo it. Our free weekly check-in template has all the fields ready to fill in.
How it works with Ventures
Every week you have a short review with your manager. You see what you earned, what worked, what didn’t and what’s next – explained in plain words, not jargon. You also see open fan requests and anything waiting for your approval, and you can say what you’d like to change.
Earnings are always shown with the platform fee and our share separated, so you know exactly what’s yours. And because you keep your login and payouts, you can check every figure in your own account whenever you like.
Frequently asked questions
How long should a weekly check-in take?
Around 15 minutes is plenty once you have a routine. If it regularly takes much longer, your notes are probably too detailed – stick to the same few numbers and one decision.
What if my earnings drop one week?
One week on its own says little: holidays, a quiet posting week or simple chance can all play a part. Look at the trend over several weeks and check what changed before you react.
Should I count tips and paid messages separately?
Yes. Keeping subscriptions, paid messages, paid posts and tips apart shows you what really changed. A single total hides where the money came from.
Do I need to share my check-in with anyone?
No – if you run your page alone, it’s just for you. If you work with a manager, the weekly review is where you both look at the same numbers and decide together.
